GAVIN DAVINCI & AUXILIARY PHOENIX

After a four-year hiatus we made our return to the newly opened Record Room venue on Catherine Street and what a come back it was. As part of Culture Night 2018 we hosted an event of live jazz and hip-hop. The Auxiliary Phoenix Trio opened proceedings and the dazzling solos by James Strain on his six-string bass guitar turned heads and got them nodding.

The Carlow jazz-fusion trio were followed by Tipperary emcee GavinDaVinci. Gavin had just released his debut self-produced record ‘Mr. MAAD the Inventor’ and it was a pleasure and a privilege to see the man in full flow in front of a crowd who chanted back each and every chorus to him.
